The average weight of the North American wolf is 80 lbs,
although, it is not uncommon to see one weighing 100
lbs. in Alaska. The male wolves are generally 5 to 10
lbs. heavier than the female wolves. The color and
thickness of a wolf’s coat can vary depending on the
location and type of wolf it is.
The Native American’s
believe that the wolf symbolizes the balance between
family and the needs one has for oneself. Wolves are
loyal to their pack but do not give up their identity to
the pack.
