This pen and ink drawing was created using several
different photographs as reference. This grizzly is
walking at the top of a waterfall with a salmon in his
mouth.
Grizzlies have a
large hump over the shoulders and can be different
colors depending on their location and diet. The male
grizzly can reach up to 1,000 lbs. and can stand as tall
as 8 ft. on their hind legs. Female grizzlies are
generally about 40% smaller than male grizzlies.
The Native Americans
believe that the bear is a highly desired spirit helper
and ally because it is fearless and very powerful.
